It's too late to ban face recognition - here's what we need instead: Plans to ban face recognition in public places would only halt a tiny fraction of its use. Instead we need to regulate the technology [as with the provisions in GDPR] - and fast.
"Calls for an outright ban on face recognition technology are growing louder, but it is already too late. Given its widespread use by tech companies and the police, permanently rolling back the technology is impossible."
