Hospital Sunday 1928, men marching up Fore Street

On the back of this photograph it states that it is Hospital Sunday, July 22nd 1928. Before the establishment of the National Health Service charitable collections were made all over the country to support people who could not afford the cost of doctors and nurses. Grampound has a good history of looking after its' inhabitants and you can find further details in the Heritage Centre.
